We’re excited to invite you to the first public reading of Darren Anthony’s new play, A Black Panther in the Great White North
Join us as a talented cast and director brings this powerful story to life.
About the play:
Based on true events — In 1969, just days before his tragic assassination, Deputy Chairman Fred Hampton of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party is invited to speak at the University of Saskatchewan by a group of student activists. Determined to challenge the racial bias surrounding them, these students bring Hampton’s much-feared Black Panther philosophy to the heart of the Great White North.
