Call for Applications: 2025 Artists-in-Residence

Applications are now officially open for our annual Artist-in-Residence program!

Understanding that space, financial constraints, and a sense of community are often significant barriers faced by Black artists within Toronto, the Artists-in-Residence program provides participating residents with an environment that holistically supports their growth in ways that allow for each resident to push their creative limits.

This is a unique opportunity for Black artists and art practitioners in Toronto to access shared studio space in order to develop their artistic practices at the Nia Centre for the Arts building.

This program will run for 6 weeks, from March 10 to April 21, and support 2 artists — 1 dance artist, 1 visual artist — in their artistic and professional development.

Selected residents will have access to:

• Access to shared space
• A materials stipend to support artistic development
• A materials stipend to support a community-oriented event led by the Artist in Residence
