Call for Applications: 2025 Dance Artist-in-Residence

Applications are now officially open for our summer Artist-in-Residence program!

Understanding that space, financial constraints, and a sense of community are often significant barriers faced by Black artists within Toronto, the Artists-in-Residence program provides participating residents with an environment that holistically supports their growth in ways that allow for each resident to push their creative limits.

This is a unique opportunity for Black artists and art practitioners in Toronto to access shared studio space in order to develop their artistic practices at the Nia Centre for the Arts building.

This program will run for 6 weeks, from July 7 to August 17, and support 1 dance artist in their artistic and professional development.

The selected resident will have access to:

• Access to shared space, 2-3 times a week, at Nia Centre for the Arts;
• Mentorship from a performing artist;
• A $1,000 materials stipend to support artistic development

The deadline to apply for Artist in Residence is June 22, 2025.
