Storytelling is a main strength of mine, and a staple in editing that allows a world of opportunity for growth, both personally and professionally. With hip hop, R&B, reggae, dancehall, jazz, and classical music being primary influences in my life, I apply that same rhythmic approach in my editing style. I have worked as an Assistant Editor working on a variety of shows like Lost & Sold, BBQ Crawl and more and cut trailers for independent films, such as Brown Girl Begins, Crown & Anchor, and I was part of the editing team for Guantanamo’s Child: Omar Khadr, which was nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy Award. Part of my journey is to help promote diversity in the edit suite because there’s not a great deal of representation and it’s important to continue encouraging progressive strides to be made both on camera and behind them.
