Yoyo’s Studio, Kickback and La Rue Inspire Present: MY HAIR IS ART, PLEASE DON’T JUDGE, a series showcasing raw, unfiltered versions of Black boys in their true essence and most authentic form.

While countless young men deal with societal pressures of day-to-day life as they search for their identity and place in this world, Black youth carry an extra burden of not only being judged for their looks but specifically for their hair.

As a collective, our aim with this project was to empower young men, instill a sense of pride in their relationship with their crown, and kill outdated stereotypes that still plague today’s society. We want to celebrate this defining element of their identity that embodies resilience, power, and beauty.

The show will be open from 1-6pm, starting Wednesday, March 12th through Friday, March 14th.
