Calling all comic book enthusiasts: join our introductory workshop!
Do you have a keen interest in visual arts, storytelling and superheroes?
Sketching Heroes is an 8-week workshop series for youth aged 15-18, particularly aspiring writers, beginner to intermediate illustrators, and comic book lovers looking to make something of their own. Through this program, you’ll explore the fundamentals of comic book creation, from foundational sketching techniques to the basics of storytelling and character development. It’s a hands-on experience where participants will be guided step-by-step to develop their own comic strips, from initial brainstorming to final production, emphasizing characters that reflect your own cultural heritage and personal experiences. The workshop will also highlight potential career opportunities in the comic book and publishing industries. It’s all about giving participants the tools to tell their stories their way while celebrating individuality and creativity.
