Yuh Deh Yah, meaning ‘are you here?’ in patois, is an expression of care and community. It’s a phrase that offers us a moment to check in with you. 

We’re staying true to those roots by bringing you a day of live music, local vendors, and activities to allow people of all ages to reconnect with your playfulness. With 5 talented artists set to take the stage, food from Caribbean Eats and play activations from RESET: we want you to come out and check in with us. 

Yuh Deh Yah, Oakwood? is a free event, happening August 20th at Charles Brereton Park on Oakwood Avenue. Join us in the park from 12-6pm for a chance to be together again.

Performance Lineup

We have five artists set to take the stage at Yuh Deh Yah, Oakwood? on August 20th. Each performer brings a unique sound and connection to the diaspora that makes their music something you won’t want to miss.


Lonely Boy

Lonely Boy is an emerging artist out of Ottawa who effortlessly combines a unique, sultry and nostalgic R&B sound with a variation of soul and pop influences.

Caijo

Caijo is a Zimbabwean born recording artist and director  based in Toronto. Using music to transmute his dark past into something positive, Caijo waxes lyrical on everything from sex positivity to the complexities of his own interracial identity.

Alliston Davis

Alliston Davis is a singer-songwriter based in Toronto. In 2022, he has been working on completing his first full-length album.

Mannie

Mannie is a 21 year old singer from Toronto who grew up listening to the likes of Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, and ABBA. His music aims to inspire others to feel seen and be their authentic selves.

Yandji

Yandji is a Congolese-born Canadian singer who brings sultry vocal performance by demonstrating versatility in her music with sounds of R&B, pop, and trapsoul.

DJ Big Jacks

DJ Big Jacks has made a name for himself over the years as the official DJ for Canadian clothing store Aritzia. While he is best known for curating the culture and identity for the store, he had humble beginnings as a hip-hop DJ with big dreams to create a new and genre-bending musical landscape. His success has seen him play shows across North America and most recently, co-founding GGBR Records and his own imprint ‘Snackalot’.
