All a We ah One, but across the diaspora, we have different ways in which we shape our culture. One of the most significant ways is through our food. Although some dishes have its similarities, the ways in which each country across the diaspora shape and prepare the dish is different.

This is the second event from the Around the Diaspora cooking series, that provides you the opportunity to learn how to prepare a meal from the comfort of your home. Cookin’ Pon Gas is taking you to the Islands! Chef Deon King of King Catering will teach you how to prepare a hot Caribbean dish.

All Participants will be sent a box of ingredients as well as a recipe to follow along with.

Cost: $20.00

Chef Deon King

I’ve always had a love for cooking. From the subtle sophistication of perfecting Red Velvet cake texture, to the simplicity of chicken noodle soup – I love to cook. Combining skills I learned at Javaville (where I served as Head Chef for several years) with the theoretical knowledge I gained in the George Brown’s Culinary program, I created King Catering. King Catering combines my passion for both designing and cooking delicious foods, with customer service that is second-to-none. King Catering specializes in both North American and Caribbean cuisines. Whether you’re expecting 1 guest or 100, for fine dining or a backyard barbeque, King Catering is sure to delight you and your guests.
