Interested in learning how to build your network and map out a career in film? Register today for this three- part drop in workshop series facilitated by Creative Director and Documentary Filmmaker, Danica ” Dizzy” Ricmara.

Cut to Create will teach emerging filmmakers how to map out their career trajectory, create a dynamic story that speaks to their creativity and experience and explore the step by step process in building professional relationships with industry professionals. Dizzy will guide participants in building their film bios and teach them the different types of pitches, how to structure them to speak to their creative works and when to use them.

Eligibility

This program is ideal for emerging filmmakers or youth who have an interest in film between the ages of 14-29.

Workshop Dates and Time

Workshop One- Thursday July 15th: Creative Expression: Bridging Your Stories

In this workshop, participants will explore the aspect of storytelling through film and learn how to create a dynamic story that speaks to your creativity and experiences. Participants will also create their film bios.

Workshop Two- Thursday July 22 : Career Trajectory

In this workshop, participants will begin to map out their career trajectory and learn how to break into the film industry. Participants will also learn about the different types of pitches and when to use them.

Workshop Three- Thursday July 29th : Power of Pitch- Stepping into Rooms

In this workshop, participants will learn the step by step process in building professional relationships, networking and learn how to curate their work.


Danica “Dizzy” Ricmara is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and creative director, a highly motivated content creator, and community builder, offering 3 years of experience in creative leadership capacities, specifically with highlighting the voices of youth through curation, video production and workshop facilitation. Her first short- documentary “Worst Student Ever”, winner of 3 festival awards, including Audience Choice award at the Breakthrough Film Festival. Through her work, Dizzy strives to uplift miss voices and highlight social issues within communities.
