Work alongside professional singer and songwriter, Tèmi Opaleye, and two other participants to learn the basics of song structure, and how to develop a rhythm/flow that matches your words.
These 4 sessions will focus on the creative process of writing music and how to center your voice and artistic self through your verses.
SESSION DATES
Session 1: Thursday July 30th, 2020 5pm-7pm
Session 2: Thursday August 6th, 2020 5pm-7pm
Session 3: Thursday August 13th, 2020 5pm- 7pm
Session 4: Thursday August 20th, 5pm-7pm
You must be able to commit to all 4 sessions to participate and be a mentee within the Creative Connect program.
All materials needed will be provided to you. All sessions will be held via Zoom.
Témi is an R&B artist. Born in Nigeria, raised in Toronto and expanded into the United States market. He was part of a music group called Untitl3d and with that group, he travelled to Atlanta, GA and were they were signed and recognized by celebrity rapper Ludacris’ label Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP) and Def Jam. With his former group, Témi has hit the stages of BET’s 106 N Park and featured with rapper Ludacris on MTV Jams.
Témi did not stop his dreams and continued to follow his solo career from Atlanta to Toronto . He released his first solo EP , “Intro II A New Beginning”in 2014.
He won the 2017 African Entertainment Award for ‘Best Breakout Artist of the Year” and Nominated as Breakout Canadian Musician” for Notable Awards in 2018. As an artist he hopes that people will relate to his music in a way that helps them find healing.
