Black Women Film is excited to re-launch their award-winning film camp model for Black teen girls taking place this summer. Participants will be mentored and supported by Black Women Film alumni and industry professionals to create their first short films.
WE THRIVE Black Girls Film Camp is an Afro-centric film camp for Black women identified and non-binary youth 16-24 based in the Greater Toronto Area presented by Black Women Film! Canada in collaboration with the Nia Centre for the Arts.
Facilitated by award-winning filmmakers and educators Ella Cooper and Laurie Townsend, this camp will also include presentations by guest mentors to help participants create their first films in a safe and fun outdoor and online environment.

This exciting initiative is a partnership between Black Women Film! Canada in collaboration with the Nia Centre, with generous support from the Canada Council for the Arts.
Registration Deadline: July 24th, 2020 | 11:59PM
Note : This camp will be in keeping to Toronto physical distancing by-laws. All participants will be given clear shields and masks for outdoor and film productions days. We will also be following strict sanitizing protocols during the camp and covering the cost of the data / wifi required to participate in the camp.
