Submit your artwork for a chance to exhibit at A Black Art Fair 2026!
A Black Art Fair is making its return for a fourth edition and we want you to submit.
2026 Theme: ‘Evidence’
What remains after we have lived, loved, built, imagined, remembered, and created? This year’s Black Art Fair explores Evidence—the traces we leave behind and the worlds we make visible. Every work of art leaves a trace. It records a way of seeing, a relationship, a question, a memory, a material gesture, or an imagined future. As individual works come together, they form a collective record: not a singular history, but a constellation of lived experiences, ideas, and possibilities. Artists are invited to respond to this theme in ways that are personal, conceptual, material, or abstract. We welcome work that considers evidence as history or future, as presence or absence, as documentation or imagination, and as the enduring imprint of Black life in all its complexity.
Presented by Nia Centre, ABAF is designed to support Black Canadian artists by creating a high-impact, culturally grounded space where your work is not only seen, but collected.
We know that collecting and purchasing artwork can play a meaningful role in supporting the careers of Black artists. Across the country, there are countless Black artists bringing bold ideas, perspectives, and creative practices to life and we want to help create more opportunities for that work to be seen, valued, and collected.
That’s why we’re bringing back our one-of-a-kind exhibition celebrating the work of Black Canadian artists. Open to artists across all disciplines and at every stage of their careers, the exhibition offers more than a chance to showcase your work alongside your peers.
It’s an opportunity to connect with new audiences, build relationships, create pathways for your practice, and contribute to a culture where Black art is celebrated, supported, and sustained.
