Nia Centre for the Arts presents Nicole Dennis-Benn, author of “Patsy” and “Here Comes the Sun”, in conversation with Donna Bailey Nurse.
In her most recent novel, “Patsy”, Nicole Dennis-Benn brilliantly navigates themes of motherhood, immigration, sexuality, and sacrifice, while powerfully exploring the experiences of a working class Jamaican woman and her trials as an undocumented worker in America. “Patsy” charts the geography of a hidden world – that of paradise lost, swirling with the echoes of fading Patois, in which one woman fights to discover her sense of self in a world that tries to define her.
In conversation with Canadian literary critic Donna Bailey Nurse, “Between Two Worlds” will take audience members through an evening of Jamaican cultural exploration, Black literary excellence, and culturally meaningful dialogue.
Doors open at 7pm | Conversation begins at 7:15
