Celebrate community with us!
Artwork: Jose Alejandro Acosta Soto
For 12 weeks, a group of 6 dedicated local residents worked alongside facilitators Khadijah Morely and Kleo Ali to delve into the work of printmaking. Participants learned about the history of the printmaking medium, its uses in both art and community, and learned how to translate their artistic ideas into art using linocut and screen printing – all while building community with their neighbours.
Artwork created during the program on display at Nia Centr for one week, starting with a reception and communiy celebration on October 26.
Light refreshments, good music, and good vibes will be provided.
Attendees will have the opportunity to print their own screen printed canvas tote featuring some of our participants artwork! Supplies are limited, and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Be sure to RSVP!
