Our executive director, Alica Hall, was interviewed in a new article in The Record on the lack of Black social infrastructure in Toronto. The interview speaks to the lack of facilities, ownership and political movement around Black community spaces in the city.
Speaking to journalist Alice Chen, Hall said “the buildings that we call social infrastructure… at the heart of it they provide a sense of care, connection, and belonging and opportunity… that’s particularly important for communities that are divorced from the mainstream.”
