From theatre productions to podcasts, learn how to get your dreams funded.
Finding funding towards your artistic projects can be daunting. From grant applications, sponsorships, donations and awards, navigating funding opportunities is not small feat. Leah-Simone Bowen, playwright and producer of the CBC podcast The Secret Life of Canada, we’ll be sharing insight on how she’s been able to take her creative projects from concept to production by successfully leveraging funding opportunities, and providing insight on you can do the same.
This session will be presented live on Zoom, with an open Q&A period following the conversation.
Leah-Simone Bowen is the co-host and creator of the irreverent history podcast, The Secret Life of Canada. Debuting in August 2017, it rose to the top of the iTunes charts, amassed critical acclaim and millions of downloads. In 2019, it would become the first independently created podcast to be picked up by the CBC. She is also a writer, theatre director, and the former Artistic producer of Obsidian Theatre as well as the past Theatre Program Manager at the Toronto Arts Council. Leah is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s Theatre Program.
